Kanban: a self-hosted board, now open source
A simple, self-hosted kanban board with drag-and-drop, sharing and live updates, plus a Home Assistant integration. MIT licensed, with a live demo.
Meet Kanban, a small open source kanban board you run on your own infrastructure. The code is on GitHub under the MIT license, and you can try it right now in the live demo — no sign-up, your data stays in your browser.
What’s in it
- Boards, columns and cards. Multiple boards with configurable columns and drag-and-drop cards.
- Sharing. Add a collaborator by email and pick a role, editor or viewer. Access is immediate, no invite step.
- Live updates. Everyone viewing a board sees changes as they happen.
- Installable. It’s a PWA, with a thumbnail preview of each board on the boards list.
- Built on Angular and Supabase. Auth, Postgres and Realtime come from your own Supabase project, protected with row level security.
Home Assistant
Kanban ships with a Home Assistant integration. It exposes each column as a sensor and adds services to add, move and delete cards, so you can use them in automations or voice commands. A custom Lovelace card mirrors the board on a wall-mounted tablet and lets you move cards by tapping them.
